Marinara Mussels

Ingredients and Method


  • 1.4 kg Mussels
  • 2 Shallots
  • 125 g Granulated sugar
  • 2 Cloves garlic
  • ½ Cup Water
  • ½ Cup White wine
  • 50 g butter
  • Thyme
  • Bay leaf


  1. Debeard and wash the mussels. Chop the shallots and garlic. Put the butter in and simmer the shallots in a saucepan on low heat.
  2. Pour in the water and white wine. Add the garlic, thyme and bay leaf.
  3. Bring to a boil for 1 minute without covering, then arrange the mussels in the saucepan
  4. Close. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat source and cook according to the time indicated.
  5. Take out and serve.
